Athene is an object based, multi-platform operating system that is being developed for embedded devices and standard PCs. It has been designed to work in almost any software and hardware environment and can be reconfigured to suit the requirements of the target system, as well as individual users. The user interface is completely rewriteable and is capable of emulating other interfaces such as the Microsoft Windows and Amiga desktop environments. Athene is currently available for Intel-based Linux and Windows machines.
